It is hard to believe; but in the very heart of Singapore, amidst the shopping, the construction sites, traffic snarls and the million other daily abrasions of the quotidian, there is a spot of surreal quietude. It is a place from which the sky seems to soar upwards boundlessly, where the air smells of grass and fruits, and sculptures stand amidst trees and architecture. A spot where the space itself invites the visitor to sit a while, rest and take it all in. A motley crew of artists, performers, designers, makers and epicures built this spot out of dereliction and disuse. And now, because somehow, different dreams have co-mingled and congealed, we of Emily Hill can welcome you to stay awhile and sate yourself, momentarily, in quite uncommon pleasure.
